Street light mishap: Activists question quality of poles

NAVI MUMBAI: Questions are being raised about the quality of street light poles that led to the leg injury of a 38-year-old woman named Usha Jadhav from Vashi. The pole fell on her while she was walking down the footpath near Teen Tanki of Koparkhairane on Saturday.

The woman underwent a surgery at a local hospital on Monday. The poles were installed just a couple of years back along Navi Mumbai roads.

NMMC has filed an FIR on the cable operator that used the pole for laying cable across the road when it came in contact with a bus causing collapse of the pole.
