PSPCL hydel projects surpass CEA’s energy production target

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited’s hydel projects have surpassed the hydel energy production target, set by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for the first quarter of fiscal year 2020-21, by generating 134.5 percent energy of the stipulated target.

PSPCL chairman-cum-managing director A Venu Prasad said that despite of COVID-19 pandemic, the hydel projects generated 1,419 million units (MUs) of energy against the target of 1,055 MUs for the April 1 – June 30 quarter.”The Mukerian Hydel Project achieved generation of 380.18 MUs against the target of 118 MUs (322 per cent of the target), and Anandpur Sahib Hydel Project achieved generation of 198.34 MUs against the target of 168MUs (118 percent of the target). These are the highest generation achieved since last eight years,” he said.
