Electricity meters must be installed in all houses: Min

Transformers and meters must be purchased only as per requirement. Stores of all the distribution companies must be inspected.

Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar gave these instructions during the review of departmental schemes at Mantralaya.

Tomar said that electricity meters should be installed in cent percent houses in cities. Along with this, their readings must also be taken every month. While this will satisfy the power consumer, the company’s income will also increase.

Energy Minister Tomar said that to reduce losses related to electricity, a target of 90 days must be set. During this period, every small and big flaws must be analyzed and efforts must be made to remove them.

He said that patrolling must be enhanced to stop power theft. Officers of all levels must go to the field.
