MCD to continue cleaning PWD roads wider than 60ft

NEW DELHI: After a long tussle over transferring of cleaning and sweeping of roads wider than 60 feet to Public Works Department (PWD), a decision has been taken that Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will continue with the task.

There was no immediate response from the Delhi government and PWD.

Earlier, a proposal to transfer the maintenance had been tabled in MCD’s House meeting and approved by AAP councillors despite stiff resistance from BJP. However, at the time, the minutes of the meeting were not confirmed by mayor Shelly Oberoi.
