Leaking LPG cylinder triggers fire in Domalguda; 7 suffer burns, 2 critical

HYDERABAD: Seven persons sustained severe burn injuries after gas leak from an LPG cylinder triggered a fire at a house in Rose Colony in Domalguda on Tuesday. Two of them are in a critical condition.

The injured victims were identified as Padma, 55, her sister S Nagamani, 50, Padma’s daughter Dhanalakshmi, 30, her son-in-law S Anand, 34, and grandchildren – Sharanya, 11, seven-year-old Avi and four-year-old Vihan.

Around 11.30am, Padma and Nagamani went to the stove to switch it on, Domalguda police said. They said that the family members did not notice a gas leak. As they switched the stove on, the leaked gas caught fire and spread rapidly in their one-room tenement.
