Electric poles block footpath on Bengaluru’s KR Road

BENGALURU: An ambitious BBMP project to transform Gandhi Bazaar Main Road has left the pavements of KR Road in the neighbourhood in a shambles.

The contractors have dumped used and corroded electric poles, which once dotted the Gandhi Bazaar Main Road, on the footpaths of KR Raod near Tagore Circle underpass, literally making it a no-go zone for walkers. Gandhi Bazaar Main Road lies perpendicular to KR Road and takes off at Tagore Circle. Several people from nearby localities visit Gandhi Bazaar every day to buy their daily needs like vegetables, flowers or puja items.
