Chennai: Roads not taken as red tape, rains render them useless
CHENNAI: Availing of a cab, booking an ambulance during emergencies or getting a school van on to a street has become a tedious task for residents of Madipakkam, Manapakkam and Mugalivakkam. The shoddy state of roads ensure that cars or bigger vehicles get trapped in slush and dug-up roads, making daily commute nothing short of a nightmare.
Fed up with government apathy in completing civic work on time and relaying damaged roads, residents have requested the government to make temporary arrangements as cabs, ambulances and school buses refuse to enter these localities.
Among the worst affected are residents of Manapakkam and Mugalivakkam.
