Ulhasnagar: Three jeans factory owners booked for electricity theft worth Rs 7.5 lakh
ULHASNAGAR: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has booked owners of three jeans factories in Ulhasnagar for illegally stealing power supply worth Rs 7. 5 lakh.
The MSEDCL team has registered three separate FIRs against six people including landowners and those running factories.
The MSEDCL found that the accused used a trick to break the power meter by drilling a hole in the back of the meter box to steal electricity.
“An analysis of the power consumption of the factories revealed the theft,” said MSEDCL spokesperson
In the first FIR, factory owner Arjun Chaurasia and power user Lavkush Kushwaha have been booked for electricity theft of Rs 1.34 lakh.
