Train-halt point moved, Central Railway commuters confused

MUMBAI: Central Railway’s decision to change the stoppage mark of 12-car trains at platforms where 15-car fast train halts between CSMT-Kalyan, has led to chaos and stampede-like situation at some stations as passengers rushed to board their preferred coach on Monday.

From Sunday, CR decided that even 12-car trains would halt at the stoppage mark meant for 15-car trains.

This decision has led to change in position of coaches because of which many passengers had to run a few meters to board their preferred coach.

Kurla commuter Hemant Samant said, “I was waiting for the 12.17pm fast train to board the rear end coach on platform number 6.
