Traffic police fill up craters in IT corridor

BENGALURU: Bellandur traffic police personnel along with BBMP workers filled potholes on the Outer Ring Road stretch from Bellandur junction to Iblur junction on Saturday. The craters had slowed down movement of vehicles, causing long traffic snarls, especially during peak hours.

While the traffic police’s gesture drew a lot of appreciation on social media, BBMP received much flak. Twitterati wondered why police are doing what is meant to be the civic body’s job. “Hats off to our police, they are plumbers, cleaners, carpenters… someone’s ignorance, someone’s responsibility. BBMP needs to look at it,” Vijay Kumar, a Twitter user, posted.
