MUMBAI: Tata Power has devised an innovative way to replace old 110 KV power transmission towers by introducing new narrow towers which require less space compared to existing towers and can be erected inside existing tower space without compromising on safety and quality.
These transmission towers are instrumental in bringing electricity to Mumbai.
“It is a simple procedure wherein you do not have to remove the old tower completely. The new one fits in a small area within,” said an official, adding that the power firm will be able to expedite long pending projects of new transmission lines with this innovation and save 30% of tower construction time as compared to conventional methods.
