Tamil Nadu: Perungalathur flyover’s 3rd arm goes live tomorrow

CHENNAI: In a relief for residents in and around Tambaram, the state highways department is scheduled to open the third arm of Perungalathur flyover for public use on Wednesday.

Engineers from the Chennai Metropolitan Development Plan (CMDP) wing of the highways department said highways minister E V Velu is likely to inaugurate the project, which remained pending for years.

The 400-metre-long arm, which connects Srinivasa Nagar, Old Perungalathur and Mudichur with busy GST Road, was supposed to be opened for public use two years ago. But delays were attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic and court cases linked to land acquisition.
