Solar energy rooftops up 40% in 1 year in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: The solar rooftop-installed capacity in the state for MSEDCL has touched the 1,400MW-mark with close to 80,000 consumers opting for the subsidy scheme. It is a 40% growth in solar generation through rooftop panels in less than a year and which has won the state power utility national recognition this week, a senior official said on Sunday.

While solar rooftop installations in housing colonies, homes, establishments and schools and hospitals are coming up at a fast pace, the same has been recognised in the form of “outstanding performance in rooftop solar scheme’ award received by MSEDCL.
