RIL falls 3%, erases over $2 bn mcap
Shares of Reliance Industries Ltd on Monday fell as much as 2.8%, erasing over $2 billion of its market value as the Mukesh Ambani-led company may have to disclose its assets before it can freeze plans to sell 20% stake in its refining and petrochemicals business to Saudi Aramco.
At 9.35am, the scrip was trading at ₹1563.85 on BSE, down 2.22% from its previous close while India’s benchmark index Sensex fell 0.12% to 41632.05 points.
The Delhi High Court had asked RIL and British Gas to disclose their assets after the Centre sought to restrain them from disposing of the same, according to a report in The Times of India.
