‘Recognise electricity workers as Covid warriors’
The Nesco Employees’ Union has urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to recognise the electricity employees and workers as Covid warriors at the earliest. This would indeed be appropriated in view of the extraordinary service that they are rendering even in the face of all adversities during the Covid times, the union has stated.
A delegation led by union deputy general secretary Jyoti Krushna Nayak submitted a memorandum to this effect to Mayurbhanj district Collector Vineet Bharadwaj on Tuesday.
The memorandum addressed to and being sent to the Chief Minister hailed the State Government’s decision to recognise several other groups of frontline Covid workers like healthcare professionals and mediapersons as Covid warriors and reward them accordingly.
