Railway Board recommends CBI probe into Balasore triple train accident

India’s Railway Board on Sunday recommended that the Central Bureau of Investigation should launch a prode into the three-way train collision in Odisha’s Balasore.

The accident took place late on Friday evening, claiming 275 lives and leaving over 1,000 people injured.

“We have recommended a CBI probe into the triple train accident that claimed 275 lives and left over 1,000 injured,” Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told reporters in Bhubaneswar.

The Minister added that the Centre along with the support of the state government are providing the necessary support to injured patients who are admitted to various hospitals in Balasore, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
