PWD takes up street light repair on DH Road

Kolkata: The PWD has finally taken over the work to repair LED street lights on a 9.5km stretch of Diamond Harbour Road between Mominpore and Joka. It was through the Southwest, DH Road and Thakurpukur traffic guards that the Kolkata Police had written to multiple agencies more than three weeks ago, requesting them for better illumination of the stretch that connects the city with southern suburbs and other parts of South 24 Parganas.

“It was difficult to spot potholes on the stretch from a distance due to the lack of illumination,” said Anjan Mukherjee, a resident of Silpara in Behala.
