PSPCL conducts massive raids against power theft
Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), popularly known as Powercom, has launched a massive campaign against the menace of electricity theft in the state.
The campaign was launched as per the directions of PSPCL chairman-cum-managing director A Venu Prasad and Director (Distribution) DIPS Grewal, said Bathina Circle Deputy Chief Engineer Jiwan Kumar Kansal.
Kansal said that different raids were conducted at various premises of consumers on Tuesday and a sum of Rs 48.23 lakhs as fine has been assessed from 118 consumers for theft of power or unauthorized use of electricity.
“Excellent results have been achieved during the raids conducted by Distribution Wing of Bathinda operation circle today. This campaign would continue in future also,” he said, while appealing to the consumers to pay their electricity bills in time to avoid fine and disconnection.
