Pragati Maidan tunnel stays shut for 4th day

NEW DELHI: The Pragati Maidan tunnel remained closed even on Tuesday. Public Works Department officials said the rainwater had been drained out but some cleaning work was left to be done.

“We could not open the tunnel on Tuesday because the task of draining the water out and removing the silt took more time than expected. The accumulated water had reached a height of up to five feet and hence, the work took time. The tunnel is likely to be opened for commuters tomorrow,” said an official.
