‘Odisha consumers pay higher power tariff’
The Odisha Janshakti Manch (OJM) has stated before the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) that the ordinary electricity consumers of Odisha are paying more tariff than consumers in many other States.
Even though Odisha is a power surplus State the common Odia households consuming less than 200 units per month are paying Rs 945 while the consumers in AP are paying Rs 620, in Delhi it is nil, in Chhattisgarh it is Rs 861 and in Punjab the consumers are paying Rs 672. In Tamil Nadu 100 units of free electricity is provided bi-monthly, the OJM said.
