NTPC Sipat donates Rs 7.3L for welfare of migrant and daily wage workers

Continuing its efforts at the time of national-wide lockdown to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the NTPC Sipat unit on Saturday donated Rs 7.3 lakh to Ajit Pujari, CEO, Janpad panchayat mastury as part of its corporate social responsibility and community development initiative.

The donated amount will be utilized to provide accommodation of migrant labourers and daily wage workers in the nearby villages, an official release by the NTPC said.

In the fight against Covid-9, the NTPC Sipat unit and its associates have taken a number of measures to safeguard its employees and associates from the pandemic, it said.

Earlier, Rs 25 lakh was handed over to the Bilaspur district administration, and Rs 2 lakh to Janpad panchayat mastury for sanitizing and other arrangements.
