Civil aviation helping in life-saving medical supplies: Minister

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday said that the country’s civil aviation infrastructure is “working round the clock” to ensure transport of life-saving medical supplies.

In a tweet, the Minister said: “Our robust civil aviation infrastructure is working round the clock to ensure timely transport of life-saving medical supplies to regions where they are needed.

“Lifeline UDAN has till now transported 649 tonnes of supplies on 368 flights across 3,63,819 kms.”

The Lifeline Udan flights connect hubs in locations such as Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Agartala, Aizwal, Dimapur, Imphal, Coimbatore, Thiruvanthapuram, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Ranchi, Port Blair and Goa.

Accordingly, the flights are operated by Air India, Alliance Air, IAF, Pawan Hans, Blue Dart, SpiceJet, IndiGo and Vistara.
