Mumbai: Police bust illegal LPG transfer racket
MUMBAI: With the arrest of three men, Charkop police busted a racket where LPG was being illegally transferred from domestic cylinders into commercial ones in a highly dangerous manner.
The accused’s intention was to pocket the profit. Investigators said that had the cylinders exploded in the process, the entire locality could have been impacted.
On Wednesday, a Charkop police team headed by assistant inspector Sudhir Chavan got a tip-off about the activity and carried out a raid at Madh.
They seized 194 cylinders, plastic labels, an electric motor, a tempo and a weighing scale, collectively worth Rs 10 lakh.
