Mumbai: MSEDCL unearths power theft worth Rs 36 lakh, FIR registered
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) unearthed a power theft of 2.6 lakh units of electricity valued at Rs 36 lakh in Bhandup, and an FIR was registered against the owner of an industrial gala in the Sonapur area on Thursday.
An official said, “The accused person had pilfered electricity by connecting a cable illegally to the mains and had also provided power supply to a nearby gala which had faced temporary disconnection due to nonpayment of bills recently.”
The accused has been booked under Electricity Act.
