Mumbai: MMRDA seeks Kanjur land for Metro 6 depot
MUMBAI: MMRDA has asked the state government to allot land at Kanjurmarg for the construction of a depot for Metro 6 (Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli).
Half the construction work on the line has been completed. The location is the same where the erstwhile MVA government led by Uddhav Thackeray had proposed an integrated depot for Metro 6 and Metro 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz).
“We have written to the state for the allotment. We aim to commission the line within two and a half years. The land will be needed soon so that depot work can conclude before commercial operations on the corridor begin,” said a senior MMRDA official.
