Mumbai: LPG at Rs 651, rate up third month in a row

MUMBAI: The LPG rates have been hiked for the third month in a row with prices now escalating by Rs 76 from November 1. The retail price for a 14.2 kg non-subsidised cylinder in Mumbai is Rs 651. The rate has risen by over Rs 104 a cylinder in three months, officials said.
At the same time, price of petrol and diesel in Mumbai has fallen marginally. The petrol rate was Rs 78.51 a litre on Friday, down from Rs 78.60 a week ago while diesel price was Rs 68.99 a litre, down from last week’s Rs 69.12.
As for CNG, the price lately dipped by Rs 2 and has been Rs 49.95 per kg, and there was no further hike on Friday. The public transport in the city, including autos, taxis, private cabs and buses, depend on this fuel. The price of cooking gas, or piped gas, too dipped recently by a rupee and remains constant for this month, officials of Mahanagar Gas Limited said.
The price of non-subsidised LPG has risen steadily over the last three months. The price had gone up from Rs 546.50 in August.
