Mumbai: After corridor and tanks, Hindmata to get new foot overbridge
MUMBAI: After constructing underground water tanks to prevent flooding and building an elevated connector between two flyovers for vehicles, BMC will now build a foot overbridge (FOB) for pedestrians at Hindmata.
Officials said it will have escalators and people can cross over the busy Dr Ambedkar Road.
Officials said it will cost over Rs 4.5 crore and work may begin in a few weeks. “Hindmata is a saucer-shaped, low-lying area which was a chronic flooding spot for many decades. BMC’s plan to construct tanks has worked and so has the elevated road which connects the Parel and Hindmata flyovers. There is no traffic disruption even in heavy rain,” said a civic official.
