Mumbai: Adani Electricity staff donate blood for thalassemia, sickle cell and haemophilia patients

MUMBAI: Adani Electricity recently appealed to its employees to come forward and donate blood as the city needs it.
A blood donation camp was organised between January 5 and 16 in collaboration with State Blood Transfusion Council and Adani Foundation across Adani offices including its 500 MW thermal power plant at Dahanu.
“We are helping blood banks and hospitals across the city to address the need of thalassemia, sickle cell and haemophilia patients,” an official said.
He further said : “Close to 600 employees came forward along with their family to donate blood. The donation camp was organised in two categories — as regular donors to fulfill the shortage of blood in the city and another as a special donor for those who were affected by Covid-19.” During the camp, the officials undertook all precautions like social distance, face mask and sanitising the location.
