850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Project approved for J&K

After a long wait the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finally approved construction of 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Project in Jammu & Kashmir at an investment of `5,282 crore. On its completion the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir will become power surplus, will create 4,000 jobs in J&K, directly & indirectly, and will contribute to overall socio-economic development of the UT.

While thanking the Prime Minister Lt- Gov Manoj Sinha termed it a historical decision as it will go a long way in ensuring unprecedented development in Jammu & Kashmir.
