Morbi bridge tragedy: Gujarat HC judge recuses himself from hearing Oreva Group manager’s bail plea
AHMEDABAD: Gujarat high court judge Justice Samir Dave on Thursday recused himself from hearing a bail application filed by a manager of Oreva Group, Dineshkumar Dave, who is an accused in the Morbi suspension bridge collapse case in which 135 persons were killed on October 30, 2022.
This is the second application for regular bail filed by the accused.
Earlier, Justice Dave heard applications of five accused persons in this case and granted regular bail to them. Those who got bail included three security guards and two booking clerks. All five people were represented by the same set of lawyers. The state government did not raise serious objection to their bail plea considering their roles in the incident as delineated in the chargesheet.
