Metro eyes 2-min gap for Blue Line

Kolkata: The current crowding on the Blue Line will ease once the automatic train signalling system, which is in use on the Green Line, is introduced in it. Work to introduce this advanced signalling system, which may increase peak-hour frequency to trains every 2 minutes from the current 6-minute gap, will likely be completed in four years, Metro Railway GM Subhransu Mishra said on Friday, on the occasion of the 41st foundation day of Metro Railway.

There will be some relief shortly as work to rebuild Kavi Subhash station and the crossover at Shahid Khudiram will begin once labourers return after Chhath festivities.
