Maharashtra rains: Railway tracks between Ambernath and Badlapur submerged; many trains cancelled
PUNE: Several trains, including the ones running between Mumbai and Pune, have been cancelled while many others have been short terminated or diverted as rail tracks between Ambernath and Badlapur are submerged due to heavy rains, officials said.
The inter-city trains which have been cancelled for Wednesday include the Deccan Queen, Deccan Express, Sinhagad Express and Indrayani Express. These trains will not run on Thursday too because of unavailability of incoming rake, officials confirmed.
“The track is fully submerged under water and hence has been deemed unsafe and unfit. Many long distance trains are being diverted via the Diva-Panvel route,” Ramdas Bhise, divisional commercial manager and PRO of the Pune rail division told TOI.
