Central Rly cancels 100 local services , 10 Mum-Pune trains
Mumbai: Central Railway services, both suburban and long-distance, were disrupted on Wednesday owing to waterlogging on tracks between Badlapur-Ambernath and a signal failure at Kalyan following heavy rainfall. Western Railway services were not affected, but were running with a slight delay, said officials.
CR cancelled 100 suburban services — 80 on the main line and 20 on Harbour line — and 10 Mumbai-Pune trains. On Thursday, the CSMT-bound Sinhagad Express and Deccan Queen, and the Pune-bound Deccan Express, Indrayani Express and Intercity Express were cancelled, said a Pune division railway official.
During evening peak hours, additional manpower was deployed to handle overcrowding at major stations, including Thane.
