Labourer dies at IOCL site

A labourer engaged by a contractor for digging earth within the premises of the Gogua-based sub centre of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) died due to a landslide on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Khagen Mandal (60), a resident of Guludia under Tantiapal Marine police station.

According to sources, Mandal along with six other labourers were engaged to dig earth inside the boundary wall of the IOCL’s Paradip-Haladia pipe line’s sub centre. Krushnapada Mandal, the son of deceased , lodged a FIR in this regard.

Locals alleged that the labourers were engaged in the work without security inside the IOCL sub centre premises at Gogua.
