Interests of THDC employees will be protected: Kaushik

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Madan Kaushik said that the State Government would protect the interests of the employees and locals if the Union Government decides to disinvest THDC India limited.

The minister was responding to the question raised by the Congress members on the issue under rule 58 on Tuesday. Initiating the discussion, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Indira Hridayesh questioned the motive of union Government behind disinvesting a profit making organisation like THDC India limited. She said the merger creates apprehension among employees and these apprehensions should be removed. She added that rehabilitation of many families affected by the construction of Tehri dam is still pending and sought to know the status of these families post merger.
