IndiGo reports two engine shutdown incidents mid-air, both aircraft land safely

In another concerning incident for IndiGo airlines, a flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru experienced a mid-air glitch as one of its engines shut down. This occurrence marked the second engine-related issue within a matter of hours, following a similar incident on an IndiGo Madurai-Mumbai flight earlier in the day.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) provided details on the Kolkata-Bengaluru flight incident, stating, “Engine 2 Stall occurred and Engine 2 oil chip detected warning came. Engine 2 was shut down as per the checklist, and the aircraft landed safely.”
