India’s top airports under DGCA lens to curb unsafe ground handling practices
NEW DELHI : Indian aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is conducting periodic checks across top airports in the country to prevent unsafe ground handling practices, a senior official said.
“Through periodic checks, we are trying to improve the safety standards. We were covering ten top airports from last three months and have done series of checks,” said a senior DGCA official.
The regulator will also add five new airports—Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Coimbatore, Jaipur and Vishakhapatnam—in its periodic checks.
