AAP guarantees clean air, 24-hour power and water supply in Delhi
NEW DELHI : Less than three weeks ahead of assembly elections in the national capital, Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday released a 10-point guarantee card, which includes reducing pollution by a third, ensuring continuous piped drinking water supply and building houses for slum dwellers.
“This is a guarantee card from me to the people of Delhi. This is bigger than the manifesto. This guarantee card includes issues that affect the lives of every resident,” Kejriwal said. “These are issues, some of which we have already worked on in the last five years. Those we will continue to do in the next five. The other guarantees we will begin work on and ensure they are done in the next five years.”
The 10 points also include extending free travel on public transport to students in addition to women currently, basic facilities for unauthorized colonies, good education for students until graduation, affordable and quality healthcare, improved security for women, uninterrupted power supply, and improved cleanliness by ensuring efficient disposal of garbage.
