India’s longest motorable single lane suspension bridge ready

The Dobra-Chanthi bridge connecting New Tehri to Pratapnagar is ready. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat shared photographs of the bridge on social media, stating that after a long wait of 14 years, the occasion for which the residents of Pratapnagar were waiting is going to arrive soon.

Rawat stated, “Understanding the pain of the residents of Pratapnagar and the importance of the Dobra-Chanthi bridge, we accorded top priority to the construction of this bridge. The State Government released lump sum budget for this project and the result is there for all to see.”

The 440 metre long Dobra Chanthi bridge built across the Tehri dam reservoir is the nation’s longest motorable single-lane suspension bridge.
