Mumbai: An Imphal-Delhi IndiGo flight was recently diverted to Lucknow as the safety pilot fell ill and was incapacitated. The incident took place on March 12 onboard flight 6E2503 which departed Imphal at 1.15pm. “It was a training flight. As the first officer was under training, the cockpit had a safety pilot apart from the second pilot, on board,” said a source.
An hour into the journey, the safety pilot, who had a blocked nose, fell ill. A cabin crew member onboard the A320neo aircraft made an announcement requesting doctors, nurses onboard to come forward to help.
