HPSEBL staff ‘duped’ by union leader
Over 1,000 outsourced employees of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL), who were allegedly cheated by their union leader, have been running from pillar to post to get their hard-earned money back.
They said they had formed a Bijli Majdoor Ekta Union (BMEU) to contest for the regularisation of their services and other demands.
It was alleged that Yashpal, general secretary of the union, along with some of his accomplices, collected over Rs 30 lakh in the name of legal and other expenses. Meanwhile, the union had suspended Yashpal and elected Sunil Kumar as general secretary of the BMEU.
