‘Gridco power tariff hike bid uncalled-for’
Corona has affected life and livelihood of the people of the State the power companies increased power tariff last financial year by 50 paise. And this time when Odisha is passing through the threat of Omicron virus the power companies have applied for power tariff hike which should be rejected by OERC, demanded Samajwadi Party State unit president Rabi Behera.
The Gridco in its application dated 30.11.2021 has applied for power tariff hike from the present Rs 296.20 per unit to Rs 385.21 per unit to OERC for the financial year 2022-23.
If the application of Gridco is approved, the price of power tariff will be skyrocketed which can pinch the pocket of common consumers as well as small and medium industries in the State, stated Behera.
