Govt land to EV public charging stations through bidding

The government has allowed government entities to offer land to private agencies setting up public charging stations through bidding starting with a floor price of Rs 1 per unit.

The land available with government agencies can be offered to PSUs at a concessional rate of Rs 1 per unit for setting up public charging stations. The tariff of public charging stations has also been capped to not exceed average cost of supply till March 2025. As per previous guidelines, the tariff for public charging stations was capped at 15% of the average cost of supply.

Under the power ministry’s revised promulgated guidelines and standards for charging infrastructure for Electric Vehicles (EV), revenue sharing model has been put in place, an official statement said.
