Gokhale ROB to be ready by Dec: BMC
MUMBAI: The BMC has claimed that at least two lanes of Gokhale railway bridge will be operational by October-end and the entire bridge by December-end. In a statement issued on Sunday, the BMC said work is progressing at a fast pace.
As per BMC officials, a girder weighing 1,250 tonnes is crucial in its construction, and 1,270 metric tonnes of steel have already been procured for the girder. Besides, over 25% of the girder has been fabricated in a factory in Ambala. BMC also claimed that nearly 80% of work on approach road to the bridge, within its limits, has been finished.
