Five energy theft cases detected

Chennai: The enforcement squads of Tangedco detected five energy theft cases and collected ₹8 lakh as fine during a mass raid in K K Nagar division recently.

Of the fine amount, ₹7.74 lakh was an extra levy and ₹28,000 was collected as compounding fee.

Tangedco also collected ₹2,800 as fine from CMWSSB contractor for stealing power from the junction box to plough the road in Valasaravakkam based on a photo carried by TOI.
