Expedite work on flyover in Bengaluru: Citizens

BENGALURU: Scores of citizens led by Congress legislator Ramalinga Reddy staged a demonstration at Sony World Junction in Koramangala on Saturday, demanding that the government expedite construction of the Ejipura-Kendriya Sadan flyover.

The proposed flyover has turned out to be a civic nightmare. Reddy said the flyover was first mooted in 2012-13 with funds from the JNNURM scheme. But after the scheme was spiked, the state took up the project and then CM Siddaramaiah laid the foundation stone in 2017. The project was to be executed by Simplex Infra Ltd and was to be completed by December 2019. “After BJP came to power, funds were not released and the project got derailed,” Reddy said.
