Etihad to replace Airbus 380s on Mumbai-Abu Dhabi route with Airbus 340

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad is reducing capacity on the Mumbai- Abu Dhabi sector to Airbus 340 from Airbus 380 due to poor loads in its premium class.

The airline, which had launched the device with an Airbus 380 in May last year will change the aircraft to Airbus 340 from July this year.

The aircraft, which was being used in the Mumbai-Abu Dhabi sector, will now be used between Abu-Dhabi and Paris.

“Etihad Airways is introducing its award-winning A380 on the Abu Dhabi – Paris route this summer as part of seasonal adjustments to the airline’s fleet deployment plan,” the airline said in a release.

Featuring the carrier’s revolutionary The Residence – the world’s first three-room suite on a commercial airliner – the aircraft will operate on one of its twice-daily services to the French capital between July 1 and October 28, added the release.

Paris becomes the airline’s latest A380 long haul destination following London, Sydney, New York and Melbourne, the release further added.
