EE suspended for power snapping
The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Co Ltd (CSPDCL) on Monday suspended the Executive Engineer of Pakhanjur in Kanker district for shutting down electricity supply to 62 villages.
CSPDCL Managing Director Harsh Gautam issued an order suspending R.K. Chauhan with immediate effect.
The reason cited is that the Executive Engineer ordered snapping the power supply of 62 villages of Pakhanjur division.
He carried out the order based on a circular issued by the erstwhile Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board in 2000, just before the formation of Chhattisgarh.
The circular stated that if the revenue collection of electricity bill is lower than 50 percent, then power supply can be disconnected.
