Different associations write to CM over power staff shortage

As the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is getting over 25,000 complaints per day regarding power outages, different associations have written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alleging a shortage of staff that has resulted in poor maintenance and upkeep of the power infrastructure.

“Shortage of staff has impacted maintenance work that has resulted in frequent power cuts. Overloading of transformers and cable faults have aggravated the situation,” the letter said.

It further said that there should be 2,65,000 employees in the power sector in the state but only 68,000 employees are currently working, placing a tremendous burden on each individual.
