DGCA asks operators not to operate to non-guarded airfields without approval

In a bid to check carriage of cash by Non-Scheduled Operators, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued an order asking operators to not operate to non-guarded airfields without the approval of the Local administration.

In a circular dated today, the DGCA says that the general aviation flights from non-guarded or non-operational airports should not be operated with the approval of the Deputy Superintendent of Police of the area.

It also says that the pilot-in-command of the aircraft should proper check of the flight and passengers before it takes off.

The DGCA’s circular was issued after a charter aircraft was used to carry cash cash in old denomination Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes to Dimapur that is not a full fledged airport.

The aircraft was apprehended and cash was recovered by the Income tax authorities last week.
